Recent activities leading up to the present day.
Since the formation of the society in 1996 with Pat Rooney as President we have continually responded to the needs and requests of our members to improve their enjoyment both individually and together with other members.
After many years located at Danforth Avenue and Greenwood we officially moved again on 1st. January 2016 to our new location. It took a few months of required hard work by volunteers to totally refurbish the main floor and basement area. The main floor area is complete for now and much of the basement area of about 2,000 sq.ft. has been completed. Recent installation of air conditioning and ceiling fans makes the main floor area comfortable for all in the summer months and heating throughout the building for the winter months continues that comfort.
The entrance way at the front door leads into a cosy 'meet and greet' area with adequate coat hanging space and large lounge chairs. The large open design on the ground floor allows for groups up to a maximum capacity of 100 people with regular seating or around rectangular tables. There is a complete sound system that compliments our piano players and members have many singalongs with music sheets for both Irish and all other popular songs. The most important feature for our members is of course a new fully fitted kitchen area equipped with full stove, fridge, freezer and most importantly for some, a dishwasher. Many of the members bring along home baked Irish 'goodies' for all to enjoy especially on Tuesday socials. Full washroom facilities are available on the ground floor level.
The basement also has two washrooms and the main floor area is equipped with a full size pool table, table tennis table and a competition dart board. The room also has a full size TV screen with sound equipment and toilet facilities.
Work is still ongoing to improve the enjoyment of all our members. Visit our society photo section for views of our previous and current activities.
